The previous incarnation of my blog had a page called "Rules," where I had written down a bunch of the policies by which I was organizing my life and workflow. That page doesn't exist anymore, but there were things like the terms for my charity debt (which I'm not doing anymore because the spreadsheet app broke down and it got very stressful, but I will still pay the debt I have committed to), and my blogging schedule, which went from blog every day to blog 1000 words every weekday to 700 words every weekday to 300 words every weekday to the current rule, 500 words every weekday.
But, as has clearly happened several times before, my circumstances have changed and my blogging schedule isn't working for me. I'm working this summer, and the place I'm working schedules me for 12 hour shifts. At the end of a 12 hour shift, I don't have enough energy left in me to get 500 words of blogging done, work on my own short stories, and keep up with other commitments I've made to people that may be relevant on any given day.
So, here's the new rule: I will blog 500 words every day that I don't have work. I will also try to do some blogging, if it's not too much trouble, on days that I do have work.
Here is my work schedule for the next two weeks:
FRI: Working. SAT: BLOG SUN: Working. MON: Working. TUES: Working. WED: BLOG THURS: BLOG FRI: Working. SAT: BLOG SUN: Working. MON: Working. TUES: Working. WED: BLOG THURS: BLOG
I don't have any work today, so there is more blogging to come. And I reserve the right to blog on workdays, or to schedule posts to go up on workdays, when I'm at work.
