Asshat gun fanboys get editor fired for suggesting that sometimes maybe some people shouldn't have All The Guns

(The Guardian, via Boing Boing) A writer at Guns & Ammo got fired this week for writing an article that addressed the possibility of gun control -- any gun control, of any sort.

That not being enough for the very angry readers of Guns & Ammo, the editor who approved the article has also resigned, and is now groveling for forgiveness.

I am less and less confident that there is a reasonable opposition to the anti-gun side of this debate.  As far as these extremists are concerned, everybody not in favor of distributing bullets like candy on halloween is on my side -- which, hey, means my side is winning by like 90%.

"Anyone who says 'I believe in the Second Amendment but...' does not believe in the Second Amendment," read a typical post at thetruthaboutguns. "They are not friends, they are not frenemies, they are enemies of The People of the Gun." [emphasis mine]
